Already in 1910 the winter sports club of St. Wolfgang in Salzkammergut was founded.
The first ski jumping hill was built in 1922 at Pfarrer Leithen with a view on Lake Wolfgangsee. It was new-constructed in 1924 as the 45-meter Wolfgangseeschanze. Franz Höplinger, Sepp Schachl and Franz Ramsauer were the most talented young ski jumpers at that time. The latter not only set the hill record of 37 meters, but was also internationally acclaimed as participant of the 1937 WSC.
After World War II the ski jump was used as Franz-Ramsauer-Schanze for some years.

Wir haben uns 2005 etwa 100m weiter eine Schanze gebaut, mein Vater hatte sein Heim-Haus gleich daneben:
