History:

In February 1931 the state ski championships of the workers union were held on a newly constructed ski jumping hill at Dürrnberg in Hallein. During World War II, Waffen-SS and Hitlerjugend set up a 20-meter hill there in March 1944.
After World War II, the 1933 founded SK Hallein was able to open Zinkenschanze-K70 ski jump at Dürrnberg in 1952. Already in 1956 the peak of ski jumping history of the town was reached, when the final competition of the Four Hills Tournament had to be transferred from Bischofshofen to Zinkenschanze due to lack of snow. Then in 1957 the construction of Toni-Riess-Jugendschanze followed.
Today there is no ski jumping hill anymore at Hallein, the ski club concentrates on alpine skiing, cross-country and cycling.
