History:

The 807-meter-high Damberg in the municipality of St. Ulrich is Steyr's local mountain. The first skiing activities already took place there at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1926, the first permanent ski jump was built there, where district and regional championships were held, with jumps over 30 meters being possible.
In 1937 a new wooden structure was built on the Brandl-Leite am Damberg. For the inauguration, a state-open competition in January 1939 attracted 1,500 spectators who marveled at distances of up to 39 m. Until 1941, there were further competitions on the Damberg ski jump, but then the activities came to a standstill due to World War II. In 1953, the Skiklub Steyr replaced the ski jump with its first ski lift, which is now also dilapidating.
