History:

Already in 1905 the ski and toboggan club of Linz built a ski jumping hill at Pöstlingberg, at the lower end of Mayrwiesen, next to the toboggan slope. From 1907 on annual winter sports festivals were held there. Robert Moser, a mountaineer and skier from Linz, set a remarkable hill record of 26 meters, shortly after the opnenign of the ski jump. In 1923-24 the athletics club of Linz constructed a new ski jumping hill, which was regularily used, also for competitions, during 1930s and even during World War II.
In 1946, the ski jump was reconstructed as a 32-meter hill with a wooden inrun structure by ATSV Linz. It was used until mid-1950s, but then started dilapidating.
