History:

In 1952 the first 30 meter ski jumping hill was built up at Achomitz at the Carinthian-Italian border near Slovenia after plans from Stanko Bloudek, then in 1959-1962 K60 hill was constructed. In the following years the SV Achomitz/ŠD Zahomc developed into a very successful ski club of the Austrian young jumpers education and provided jumpers like ski jumping Olympic Gold Medal winner of 1976 Karl Schnabl. In 1993/94 the Nordic Performance Center of Carinthia was founded at Achomitz and the ski jumping facility was enlarged into K75, K50, K32, K20 and snowing machines were installed. The ski club SV Achomitz / ŠD Zahomc is caring very much about cooperation of Austrians and Slovenians
