Marie.

Video of ski jumping
I've posted a video of some old 1960s-1970s footage captured by my great-grandfather, including some ski jumpers at this location: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00qO0oPzmOo
Wow, I remember going to watch!
So I must've been around 8 or 9 years old, my mom taking me up to the jump as a kid and I was totally HOOKED! I can't believe this once happened right here in my area now that it's fast forward 40 years. Those days when people dreamed big and did things in spite just because it made sense!
I climbed this jump many many many times and was getting the urge...then it died!
Oh how I wanted to soar....Regardless I'm an avid downhill skier these days because of my mom tweaking my interest....
Thanks for the stories Norm!
What sticks wildly in my head and visions of that day I first went to watch them eagles soar down this jump back in 75 was this song "George Baker Selection - La Paloma Blanca 1975". LOL I know but that day there was speakers loudly playing the local radio station CKCY 920am and this song was burned in my mind! I'm just a bird in the sky...
