History:

The normal hill ski jump at Valle des Astún, a skiing resort in the Pyrenees near the French border, got a FIS certificate which was valid until 2000. It was already host of the ski jumping competitions of the Winter Universiades at Jaca in 1981 and 1995. Several applications of Jaca for the Olympic Winter Games failed, recently it lost against Vancouver for 2010.
