Ski jump construction works in Austria

on 2013-05-18

At Tschagguns the works on the new ski jumping hill center are currently running on full speed, at Hinzenbach the inrun track of the HS 94 was updated to the latest technology and in Schwarzach the new junior hills get plastic mattings.

Tschagguns, Montafoner Schanzenzentrum

Two months after the official step stone of the Montafon ski jumping center in Tschagguns in Vorarlberg was layed on March 8, the construction works on the ski jumping hills for the EYOF 2015 are running at full speeds. At the location of former Zelfenschanze the four new ski jumps K95, K60, K35, K20 are constructed, where the normal hill shall already be ready for jumping in the next winter season.

Currently mainly soil and concrete construction works are carried out. The necessary slope securements at the outrun area were made from shotcrete and also 116 meters up the base plate for the start house was layed. Furthermore also the base plate for the take-off of HS 108 was installed.

Hinzenbach, Energie AG-SkisprungArena

Since October 2010 there has been the highly modern normal hill HS 94 at Energie AG-SkisprungArena in Hinzenbach, which has been host of summer Grand Prix and ladies World Cup. This K85 was equipped with an inrun track by Peter Riedel GmbH during construction, whose ice track set up a heat record, when nearly 30 degrees were measured during the Austrian national championships on October 9, 2010.

Now the plastic knobs of the inrun track for summer use were replaced by porcelain knobs, which were newly developed by Peter Riedel GmbH and will give ski jumpers an even better feeeling during there inrun drive.

Schwarzach, Nachwuchsschanzen

At Schwarzach in Pongau the new junior hills K45, K30, K15, K7 have been constructed at the location of former Urfahrschanzen since 2012. Already in the last winter the first ski jumps on snow could be performed and now the plastic mattings for summer jumping are installed and further final works on ski jumps and infrastructure are carried out.
