Junior hills at Schwarzach under construction
on 2012-06-26
At Schwarzach in Pongau the construction of a new junior ski jumping facility with three plastic covered hills K40, K25 and K15 has just begun.
There is a urgent lack of medium-sized junior hills in the Austrian state of Salzburg and in order to fight it a new plastic covered ski jumping facility is now constructed for the youngsters at Schwarzach in Pongau. A few days ago the first excavators arrived for the construction of three ski jumps for around 2 million Euro at the location of no longer used Urfahrschanze.
Already in 1928 the first ski jumping hill stood at this location, until recently jumps up to 80 meters were possible there and on up to 50 meters on the smaller. Besides, there were the antiquated summer hills K25 and K15. In order to fill the gap in between and have modern training facilities ready, SV Schwarzach now constructs three new plastic covered ski jumps K40, K25 and K15, including lift, snow-making facilities and a functional building.
