History:

The MacKenzie Intervale ski jumping facility K61 in the state of New York was constructed for the Olympic Winter Games 1932 at Lake Placid, where Birger Ruud won the gold medal.

Then in 1977 the old inrun tower was dismantled and a completely new ski jumping complex with K86 and K114 was build for the Olympics 1980. These are still in regular use for training and Continental Cup competitions. Additionally there are three smaller plastic covered youth jumping hills.

Further large ski jumping events at Lake Placid were the WSC 1950 and Junior WSC 1986, from 1983 to 1990 it was yearly World Cup host.
