The Little Chester K35 was officially inaugurated in
winter 1971 with a new steal-inrun tower, which was already set up in 1969. The
planning and construc- tion
phase of the project took over two and a half years and was leaded by ski
jumping Olympic participant Jim Denney Sr., who pushed the realization forward
with great efforts. Left of it there is K20, called “Rabbit Ears” and still
further left K10, called “Bunny Ears”. Since the opening the Duluth Nordic Ski
Club has been running this ski jumping facility and since 1971 there is a
traditional youth competition called “Annual Lions Junior Invitational” every
year in December.
