In Romanian Râşnov a modern ski jumping facility for young ski jumpers was inaugurated after two years of construction time in end of August.
OMV Move & Jump – First Jumps
In 2007 the cooperation between OMV and the Romanian Ski Federation was launched. The objective of the “OMV Move & Jump” project is that the Romanian ski jumpers rank amongst the world’s top 10 within the next 10 years.
In June 2009 the construction of the first ski jumping center of Romania and South-Eastern Europe started as a project of the Romanian Ski-Biathlon Federation (RSBF), in partnership with the Râşnov City Hall and OMV, the Official Sponsor of the Romanian national ski jumping team and Official Partner of RSBF. The modern ski jumping facility at Râşnov matches the standards of the International Ski Federation. It includes three ski jumping hills (K15, K35 and K64) for children and youth. The hills can be used during the summer as well as during the winter season.
After almost two years of construction the modern ski jumping center in Valea Cărbunării has now been completed. The first official training of the national team in Râşnov took place on Tuesday the 30th August 2011. This was a big milestone for the “OMV Move & Jump” project. 30 athletes between the age of 9 and 19 were delighted to perform on the new hills. From now on young talented ski jumpers from Romania have the opportunity to train under the same professional conditions as other ski jumping nations.
